So you probably noticed, but Ive converted this blog into a beauty blog! I figured, well I still love makeup, but I want to keep my channel fashion related, so what should I do? I decided to make this a beauty blog, and keep my Youtube channel fashion related. Hope you guys dont mind!
Anyways, as you can tell by the title of the post, today I will be reviewing the Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette by Too Faced.
This palette retails for $49.00 at Ulta, Sephora, the Too Faced website, etc. It was inspired by their best selling Chocolate Soeil Bronzer (which if I must say, is one of the best high end bronzers out there!). The 16 neutral shades contain 100% cocoa powder, and is inteded for everyday use.
Now to the fun stuff!
Packaging:
Since the palette is supposed to resemble a chocolate bar, the box is the "wrapper" and the palette is the "chocolate bar"!
The back of the box has the names of the shades, and a quick description of the palette. In my personal opinon, Too Faced is one of those brands that pays specific attention to packaging. The box resembles a realistic candy wrapper, something you could find at Godiva during Valentine's Day.
The palette itself is made of tin, and the "chunks" of chocolate resemble the size of the eye shadow inside.
If you didnt notice in the first photo, it says that this palette is now a much slimmer palette. Now, it is about the size of a Naked palette (by urban decay, incase you didnt know).
Here, the new one is on the right. You can see that it is nearly half the size of the first edition. From what people were saying, the old packaging was hallow, and quite annoying. The new compact size makes it much easier to store, and saves space.
Now for what people really care about: The shades inside!
It came with a plastic slip with the shade names (not my favorite way to say the shade names), and I love how the names are chocolate/candy related!
As you can see, there are a variety of shimmers to matte, and they are all neutral, which is great for everyday-wear. You'll see in the swatches, but these eyeshadows are packed with pigment, wheather its matte, shimmery, or metallic.
Top Row (bottom to top): Gilded Ganach, White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Black Forest Truffle & Triple FudgeLast Row (bottom to top): Hazelnut, Creme Brulee, Haute Chocolate, Cherry Cordial, Champange Truffle
As you can see, all of the shade have high impact color. Some swatch better on eyes rather than just on my forearm (tutorials coming soon!!)
For my overall thoughts, this palette is worth the price. The shadows are extremely pigmented and great for everyday wear.
questions?? leave it in a comment!
